Jonathan Waldo this whole album has an energy that moves like the wind. the tape hiss is comforting throughout. Favorite track: side a: for the banks of the river will become cradles for the dead, marked with stones to be remembered by those who mourn them.

about

There is a river that runs a winding path; it is not easy to follow, for its banks are sheer in places and covered by a dense, dark wood in others. It flows from the world we know into a different one; which time forgot and the fires of industry are only distant whispers. A quiet place that exists beyond that which is known, where wild ones still worship the dark unknown which has lain hidden in the heart of the forest since the beginning of time. They call out songs of savage beauty, a chant born of their manic awe at the wonder of being, unfettered by the tradition of mundanity. They appear as wolves, deer, bears, and owls, though their spirits are infinite, undying and unknowable. If one were to find this river, one could convene in the night with the immortal souls of the forest and join in their hymn to the undying wind and the all-illuminating moon.

Recorded between June 2019 and March 2020 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

I hope this music finds you sitting on a smooth rock somewhere on the north shore of Lake Superior, looking out over the cold, majestic gloom and wondering what might lurk beneath the waves.
